Pathways

Pathways is a Special Care Unit within the Three Links Care Center that serves those residents who are experiencing the later stages of Alzheimer's disease or a diagnosis of a related dementia. Our staff takes great pride in their work as they strive to serve the needs of each resident on an individual basis. The philosophy of Pathways is to provide an environment that is sensitive to the needs of residents who exhibit symptoms of wandering or behaviors that may be disruptive to others. Staff work together to provide care that will maximize the resident's strengths and maintain his or her level of independence for as long as possible. It is our belief that residents should be free from physical and chemical restraints to promote the freedom of wandering. The nursing staff work closely with the physican, nurse practioners, consultant pharmacist and Three Links Medical Director to adjust medication usage for each resident. Finally, we believe that though the enviroment has changed, the people who played a significant part in the resident's life should be actively involved in his or her care. We encourage family members to become partners in care with us.
